About The Position

Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Ships Validator to support the US Navy out of the Philadelphia, Navy Yard. Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. This position will be based out of Virginia Beach, VA. The Ships Validator will be responsible for: Going onboard Aircraft Carriers and other potentially other Ship Classes for equipment validation. Must be able to able to safely and efficiently climb ship ladder wells and lift up to 50 lbs. Stay in compliance with maritime safety standards. Providing Life Cycle Logistics and ILS support for all Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment installed across the US Navy. Collecting and analyze data for the purpose of providing metrics for ILS Feedback Reports. Reviewing HM&E ILS drawings and adding logistics data to Availability Baseline Reports (ABRs). Updating and developing COP files / Change Notices in CDMD-OA and MBPS. Researching navy part numbers, NSNs, and APLs. Assisting in the integration of the supporting ILS Documentation for all HM&E Systems and Equipment. Communicating with NAVSEA Clients on a regular basis to provide logistics feedback. Provide monthly ILS status and metrics reports, assist in the facilitation of meetings and program reviews. Work in various DoD logistics databases Adhering to Navy safety, security, and configuration management standards during all shipboard and facility-based work activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of hands-on experience working with U.S. Navy shipboard systems and equipment OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will consider an Associate's degree & 6 years of experience OR High School & 9 years of experience.
  • US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance or able to obtain a DoD secret.
  • Prior experience in Ships validations to include different type of equipment inside different types of ships.
  • Working experience with U.S. Navy Shipboard systems and equipment.
  • Familiar with Aircraft Carriers and how to navigate onboard.
  • Experience planning and scheduling shipboard work activities, including material tracking and coordination with shipyard or field activities.
  • Must be willing to travel to the customer site if needed.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
  • Employees working in naval industrial environments, whether shipboard or pierside, must meet certain physical requirements to safely perform essential job functions. Individuals must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, often on uneven, wet, or slippery surfaces, and must be able to climb vertical ladders, stairs, and steep inclines while carrying tools or equipment. The position requires the ability to work in confined spaces with limited ventilation and restricted movement, including crawling through narrow passageways and working in overhead or below-deck areas.
  • Workers must possess sufficient manual dexterity and grip strength to operate hand and power tools, manipulate controls, and handle materials weighing up to fifty pounds on a regular basis, with occasional lifting of heavier objects with assistance. The role demands the physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead repeatedly throughout the workday. Adequate vision is necessary to read technical manuals, identify color-coded systems, and detect safety hazards, while hearing capability must be sufficient to perceive warning signals, alarms, and verbal communications in noisy environments, with or without hearing protection.
  • Employees must be able to work in varying environmental conditions including extreme temperatures, high humidity, direct sunlight, and exposure to weather elements. The position requires the stamina to work extended shifts and the balance and coordination necessary to maintain stability on moving vessels. Workers must be capable of responding quickly to emergency situations, including evacuating confined spaces and moving to emergency stations. Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
  • Prior experience working in Navy Data Environment (NDE), Remedy, Logiquest, Haystack, PMSMIS, TDMIS required.
  • Experience in completing ILS Certifications and COP files/Change Notices.
  • Experience in CDMD-OA, and/or MBPS.
  • Experience in identifying material and logistic requirements for ship alteration and repair.
