About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Logistician III to join our dynamic team. The Logistician III serves as the team coordinator for dock operations supporting the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) and the shipping/receiving of all materials processed through Building 3330S. This role coordinates daily logistics tasking, ensures compliance with safety and security procedures, and maintains organized material-handling operations in alignment with 6S workplace standards. The Logistician III coordinates closely with government team leads, WXMR Branch personnel, and Section Managers to ensure all workflows are prioritized, efficient, and properly executed.

Requirements

  • Experience in logistics, material handling, or supply-chain operations—preferably in a DoD or depot/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to coordinate a small logistics team in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize daily tasking.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to quickly learn government ERP systems and perform logistics transactions (1149s, 1348s, material induction).
  • Forklift certification, crane operator certification, or ability to obtain them shortly after hire.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • BA and/or PMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary coordinator over existing dock contractors responsible for material handling, DRMO operations, and shipping/receiving activities.
  • Prioritize, assign, and oversee daily workloads to ensure timely and accurate processing of all inbound and outbound materials.
  • Ensure the dock team follows all safety, security, and organizational policies as required by NSWC Crane.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dock area consistent with 6S standards.
  • Verify that all material-handling equipment is certified, operational, and used correctly.
  • Ensure team members possess and maintain required certifications (e.g., forklift, crane operator).
  • Operate material movement equipment as needed, including forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other logistical tools.
  • Lift and carry packages up to 35 lbs in support of day to day dock operations.
  • Assist in hands on material transfer activities during high volume or priority workloads.
  • Learn and utilize enterprise ERP systems to support transactions related to the 1149, 1348, and material induction processes.
  • Serve as backup support for ERP tasks normally performed by the material induction team.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with NSWC Crane logistics standards.
  • Work closely with government leads, Branch Managers, and Section Managers to align priorities and coordinate workflow.
  • Communicate tasking, expectations, and updates to dock personnel clearly and effectively.
  • Support government staff by providing accurate status updates, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
