About The Position

The Logistics Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the AAK Port Newark, NJ facility on a 5-day a week, day-shift basis. Some daily and weekend overtime is necessary. The position requires attention to detail, good record keeping, and the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Requirements

  • 8 hour OSHA on site safety training.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
  • Ability to operate manual or electrical pallet jacks.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong problem solving and math skills.
  • Strong equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management, and organizational skills.
  • 2-3 years in related field or related experience in manufacturing facility (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Loading and offloading rail cars and tank wagons.
  • Setting up heating and off-loading for CBE.
  • Breaking down and cleaning up CBE trailers.
  • Packaging products in totes, drums, and pails in the warehouse.
  • Managing shipping, receiving, and administration in the warehouse.
  • Maintaining daily/weekly/monthly housekeeping standards.
  • Assisting refinery operators with additional manpower tasks.
  • Using forklifts and other company tools safely.
  • Maintaining warehouse organization.
  • Assisting maintenance employees as requested.
  • Communicating effectively with the day supervisor.
  • Reporting all incidents to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Participating in company activities such as Safety Committee and Kaizen Teams.
  • Following company PPE policy and ensuring compliance.
  • Proper documentation and data entry.
  • Understanding and following environmental protection policies.
