About The Position

As we invite students to step into everything they are designed to be and do, our faculty and staff must also reflect and invest in our daily work of responding to God’s calling through an inner posture of discipline, diligence, and dedication. In the Logic School, the Bible Teacher helps students develop a deepening understanding of Scripture and Christian doctrine while learning to ask thoughtful questions and seek truth with wisdom and humility. This role supports students in forming a coherent biblical worldview, guiding them to integrate faith with reason as they grow in discernment, conviction, and faithful living. Ideal Candidate A theologically grounded instructor who leads Logic students in careful reading, doctrinal clarity, and application of Scripture. They encourage theological literacy, spiritual formation, and reasoned engagement with biblical truth. Classes to be taught include: Biblical Formation class (Logic School) Vision This course is intended to be shaped and structured according to how the instructor desires and feels led. This will be discussed and finalized upon acceptance of the role. In a general sense, we expect the class to reflect a customized version of the following: Class will consist of all Logic students (6th-8th grade) which currently includes 24 enrolled students. Lead teacher will cover a couple of the gospels (like a synoptic and John) and Acts and maybe Corinthians. In class, lead teacher will/could lead a reading of the gospel, ask hermeneutical questions (Who's the audience Matthew's writing to? What are observations, like repeated words, tone, a key idea, etc.?) or lead a Lectio Divina. Weekly homework will include prescribed Bible reading along with reflective journaling to be guided by teacher. The support/second teacher could review and grade student journals in class and return them by the end of class. Support/second teacher is also available to help facilitate discussion groups, etc. Grades for this class will be folded into the History grades. Lead and Support teacher will collaborate to provide scores and feedback to class-level history teachers to include in report cards.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Professional working experience in relevant field(s).
  • Commitment to ongoing training and spiritual formation throughout the year.
  • Be passionate about serving families and connecting them to our community as they navigate the journey of discernment, application, and enrollment.

  • Be in good standing with a Christian church, which includes weekly attendance and participation as an active worshipper.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans and activities that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with state learning standards and classical education philosophy and technique.
  • Implement classroom management skills, routines and rhythms for orderly and safe functioning within the classroom, promoting a peaceful and effective learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress, evaluate student performance, and provide feedback to the student and parents regarding, academics, social and emotional development, and the development of character and virtue.
  • Communicate with parents and other staff members.
  • Communicate assessments and scores with History teachers for inclusion in gradebook.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development workshops as required.
  • Provide lesson plans for substitute teachers, and secure a substitute when needing to be absent (sickness, Drs appointments, jury duty, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the team to set a trajectory for the course that meets goals of spiritual formation, biblical literacy, and respect for God’s Word.

  • 72 hours annually accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
