About The Position

This internship will provide support to the Lodging Corporate team, with a focus on various Lodging Operations, Revenue Management and initiatives. These initiatives include enhancing operational delivery, providing exceptional service, and other Lodging Operations related projects. The intern will gain an understanding of Hospitality and Lodging Operations. The learning process will incorporate a combination of hands on experience, mentoring and supervision from the Lodging Project Manager, and practical assignments. By the end of the internship, the intern will have a broad understanding of the hotel industry and experience with multiple brands.

Requirements

  • Must have completed at least two years of college, preferably working towards a Degree in Hospitality, Hospitality Management, Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management, Hospitality Business or other related field.
  • Experience working in a hotel required.
  • Possesses a strong sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibits a solid work ethic and sees projects through to completion.
  • Displays strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent computer skills (especially with Microsoft Excel).
  • Must be flexible and take initiative.
  • Maintains confidentiality of company information.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of process improvement and a willingness to explore new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to performance tracking by compiling data, generating reports, and supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Support the roll out of Marriott, Hilton, Choice, and Hyatt brand initiatives in partnership with the Corporate Director of Rooms Operations
  • Assist with inventory management and loading rates and packages in partnership with Revenue Management
  • Document and refresh operational SOPs that align with CSM standards and brand standards
  • Support Guest Service Standards initiatives, participate in focus calls, and support follow-up on action plans for improvement.
