About The Position

Locum Physician (IM or FM) - Supervisor A Leadership Opportunity in the Texas Hill Country Are you a highly skilled Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician looking for a senior-level, leadership role in public health and clinical management? We are seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Level 3 Supervisor, driving medical excellence and infection control for a critical facility. This unique opportunity is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, just outside San Antonio, TX . Role Snapshot As a Supervisor, you will blend hands-on patient care with strategic medical oversight. Your primary mission will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality general medical evaluation and treatment, with a specific focus on patients presenting with psychiatric disorders. What You Will Do Strategic Direction: Lead all medical and infection control programs, actively monitoring trends, and formulating data-driven recommendations for continuous operational improvement. Clinical Management: Provide advanced general medical care to a specialized patient population, addressing the complex intersection of physical and psychiatric health. Team Supervision: Mentor and clinically/administratively supervise a team of physicians and nurse practitioners within the medical clinic. Expert Consulting: Function as the primary resource for infection control, offering expert consultation to general medical staff. Staff Wellness: Administer medical treatment for state hospital employees who incur on-the-job injuries. Autonomy: Leverage extensive latitude for independent judgment and initiative while operating under the general supervision of the Medical Director. Agency Support: Be prepared to serve in a supporting role for agency disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation, which may involve flexible assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Doctor by the State of Texas Medical Board.
  • Must have a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Must have a current registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
  • Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI#) as defined by Medicare Part B and enroll as a Medicaid and Medicare Part B provider.
