About The Position

The Locksmith Technician at Clemson University is responsible for performing locksmith duties and related tasks that require basic professional skills and technical knowledge. Requirements

• Formal training or trades experience directly related to locksmithing.
• Drivers License Class D normal.

Responsibilities

• Assists experienced locksmiths by performing on-the-job training in locksmith-related duties including repair, installation of doors and hardware, record-keeping, and maintenance of university buildings.
• Maintains a multilevel master key security system for all University facilities, including annual full-time student turnaround and contract work for facilities.
• Assists in the design and implementation of locking systems for new and existing buildings.
• Operates key duplication machines and key cutters to make keys for new and existing locks.
• Repairs locks and mechanisms on office furniture and installs locking mechanisms, including panic exit devices and mortise locks.
• Promotes a safe workplace and complies with all applicable OSHA safety mandates.
