About The Position
At MGM Resorts International, the Locksmith plays a crucial role in ensuring the security and functionality of the property through various locksmith services. This position involves the repair, rebuilding, replacement, and installation of all locks and mechanical parts throughout both the interior and exterior of the property. The Locksmith is expected to provide excellent guest service while performing these duties, contributing to the overall guest experience in a vibrant and dynamic environment. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Locksmith include installing, repairing, rebuilding, and servicing mechanical or electrical locking devices using hand tools and specialized equipment. The Locksmith must determine the proper methods for key cutting and duplication, ensuring that all keys are stamped with the correct codes. Additionally, the role involves issuing keys for various areas of the property, maintaining records of key assignments, changing lock combinations, and functioning in emergency response situations. The Locksmith will also set up and maintain a master key system, utilize computer programs for keying and specification writing, and maintain a variety of locks and locking devices. This includes ordering necessary materials to maintain a working inventory and inspecting key and locking systems for buildings. Compliance with federal, state, and local safety and security regulations is essential, as is the promotion of high levels of customer service to all guests. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong knowledge of federally listed lubricants and key cutting equipment, as well as the ability to effectively communicate in English. The role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. With a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the repair, installation, and maintenance of locking devices, candidates must also meet legal requirements such as licensing and be at least 21 years old.
