About The Position

The Locksmith at Yaamava' Resort & Casino is responsible for performing all locksmith duties under the guidance of the Key Control Supervisor. This role involves managing the cylinder hardware for all doors, including keying, maintenance, and repair of lock systems. The Locksmith plays a crucial role in the key control program and ensures the security and functionality of the facility's lock systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in locksmithing or related field.
  • Casino or Hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Ability to cut and issue keys, re-key, install, and repair locks and hardware.
  • Ability to interpret, implement, and maintain pre-defined master key systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair both mechanical locking and electronic access control devices.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for lock system installations and preventative maintenance and repairs on new and existing lock systems, including mechanical and electronic key card systems.
  • Installs and repairs door hardware such as panic bars, automatic door openers, mortise locks, and hydraulic closing fixtures.
  • Maintains key control systems, including electronic records of issued keys, returned keys, re-keys, and duplications.
  • Conducts routine inspections of all door lock sets and door hardware throughout the facility to ensure operational status and appearance standards.
  • Follows keying protocols and uses discretion to preserve the integrity of the facility key system while meeting guest and internal needs.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies, promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Documents work performance, material usage, estimated repair time, and status through a work order system.
  • Works with various trades, vendors, and contractors to complete projects or tasks, monitoring third-party work and reporting status to management.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, keeping inventory and adequate stock of keys, supplies, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
