About The Position

The role of the Location Pastor is to work in harmony with the New Life leadership, have a firm grasp on the purpose, values, and strategy of the church, and align leadership teams with its mission. The Location Pastor will offer pastoral leadership and care to the congregation, drive discipleship, inspiration, teaching and outreach efforts, and cast a clear vision for the church’s spiritual health, growth, and multiplication.

Requirements

  • Be in full agreement with New Life’s vision and mission.
  • Theology degree or bachelor’s degree in ministry field; graduate work preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years ministry experience.
  • Meet the Biblical requirements for position (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Acts 6:4).
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage the staff and ministry teams to accomplish church goals.
  • Ability to teach the Bible to people; must be able to explain and defend the Christian faith.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary preacher for Sunday worship services.
  • Equip the church body for serving Christ by providing strong Biblical teaching that instructs and challenges the church to fulfill its purpose and potential.
  • Bring God’s people from an unsaved condition to being able to know, love, and serve Christ.
  • Lead the church in being a prayer church; encourage a fervent lifestyle of prayer.
  • Lead the congregation to reach and disciple 1% of their community and support church plants to do the same.
  • Officiate the ordinances of Baptism and Communion; child dedications, weddings, and funerals; be available to counsel families and individuals.
  • Effectively coach, counsel and direct the ministries of the campus.
  • Assess ministry needs and develop programs and activities to meet those needs.
  • Be engaged with the location leadership by being accessible, supportive, and available for prayer.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the location.
  • Supervise the office/building staff/volunteers and provide direction for the effective functioning of the front office support.
  • Administer the location budget, recruitment, training and direction of location staff and volunteers, church policy and procedures, and coordination/supervision of fiscal matters.
  • Develop, maintain, and nurture relationships with other churches and Christ-related organizations in the community.
  • Participate in regular meetings with Pastoral team and BTC groups; conduct regular meetings with location staff and elder/lay leadership teams.
  • Design and implement strategic planning that effectively aligns staffing, facilities, and programming to meet defined and timebound goals.
