About The Position

Directs production, distribution, quality control, and marketing operations for location or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Heartland Co-op and Regional Manager. Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area. Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of location. Reviews operations and directs sales program to develop income and new markets. Location leadership of grain quality, inventory control and safety compliance initiatives. Directs preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay, and expenses) for the location. Recommends budgets to management. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times. Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.
  • May be required to have a weighing license and a grain grading certificate.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
