About The Position
Safely operates forklift and tractor/trailer on Company grounds and in the local area.
Requirements
- High school plus additional training preferred.
- Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English needed for job tasks.
- Must have current Commercial Driver's License and be DOT approved.
- Certified forklift operator.
Responsibilities
- Operates tractor/trailer.
- Operates a forklift to load, unload, move product to various locations and stacks material.
- Before operating, checks to assure tractor and trailer are in safe operating condition. Informs supervisor of problems and/or maintenance as needed.
- Safely operates tractor and trailer units to transport finished goods, packaging materials, and pallets between the Company production facility, distribution center, and outside warehouses.
- Spots delivery trailers at Company warehouse and chocks wheels.
- Completes required paperwork.
- Keeps tractor and trailer in neat and clean condition.
- Follows safety rules and company policies.
- Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
- Receives written or verbal instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor.
