About The Position

Metal Exchange is seeking a local Truck Driver for their Moulton, AL location. This role involves driving an over-the-road truck to suppliers and customers for metal pickup or delivery. The position offers quality home time (7 nights every week), a typical Monday-Friday schedule (98% of the time) with occasional Saturdays, and a typical 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule. Drivers will travel approximately 500 miles as the longest distance and make 3-4 pickups or stops per day. The role also includes eligibility for a Quarterly Safety Bonus, an additional $50.00 Clean Inspection Bonus, and an Annual Production Bonus.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
Active Class A CDL License
At least 3 years of verifiable experience driving an over the road truck
A 3 year clean Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to meet FMCSA Requirements
Must be able to meet all DOT requirements
Must have good communication skills and reads and speaks English.
Maintains accurate logs and records.
Maintains the highest level of safety while performing daily job duties. Must have a good safety record.
Dedicated to meeting customer needs. Understands how personal actions impact the customer and MEC’s relationship. Knows how to listen to stakeholders and respond in a professional and helpful manner. Strives to build customer loyalty.

Must be able to safely operate a forklift.
Must be authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorships are not available.
Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical, and MVR.
Must have regular attendance.

Responsibilities

Drives Moulton’s over the road class 8 tractor trailer combination to our suppliers and customers to pick up or deliver metal.
Operates vehicles and equipment, works in an organized way.
Manages time with strong commitment to safety; operating all equipment safely is essential.
Completes all required paperwork and electronic logs to ensure DOT compliance; stays up to date on and follows all DOT regulations.
Follows all company policies and procedures; follows rules specific to the Moulton location such as lock out/tag out, and all safety rules including fire prevention, portable ladder, and waste management.
Uses forklift to load and unload trailers as required.
Operates the dumper truck on the yard as required.
Interacts with suppliers and customers to meet their needs; provides good customer service at all times.
Performs other Duties as required.
