About The Position

You’ll operate a commercial‑grade vehicle to safely transport and deliver fertilizer, chemicals, and other Turf and Horticulture materials to both internal teams and external customers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must possess a current, CDL/DOT certified (Class A) valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of state and federal DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle regulations. regarding licensing and certifications.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage up to 12-ton loads on tandem axle 20 ft. straight truck with piggy-backed forklift, 20-ton loads on up to 42 ft. trailer with piggy-backed forklift, and/or 48 ft. van trailers.
  • Expected to possess the ability to drive both manual and or automatic transmissions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety protocols, Bills of Lading, road signs, maps, operating and maintenance instructions, and general procedure manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
  • DMV Hazardous Endorsement is Preferred
  • Forklift Certification is greatly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate company‑assigned vehicles in compliance with all State and Federal DOT/DMV regulations, ensuring the safe transportation of both non‑hazardous and hazardous materials, including proper HAZMAT placarding when required.
  • Perform general maintenance on tractors, trailers, and forklifts, including (but not limited to) refueling, checking and replenishing fluid levels, monitoring tire wear and air pressure, observing overall vehicle performance, coordinating state inspection scheduling with the location manager, arranging routine service, and keeping vehicles clean and presentable inside and out.
  • Complete accurate pre‑ and post‑trip driver logs and inspection sheets in accordance with State and Federal DOT requirements.
  • Operate warehouse forklifts, prepare products for delivery, and securely load materials onto trucks following all company safety procedures. May also perform will‑call pickups at vendor locations as needed.
  • Offload products at customer locations and assist with product rotation when required. Courteous, professional customer service is expected at every stop.
  • Support warehouse operations when not on delivery routes, including general equipment and facility maintenance, housekeeping, loading and unloading inbound/outbound LTL/FTL shipments, stocking and storing products, participating in inventory counts, and completing assigned training.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, such as providing backup support to the location manager or warehouse team, assisting with special projects or training classes, and helping with deliveries at other Turf & Horticulture locations when required.
