Local Transfer Driver
About The Position
The Local Transfer Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to transfer raw product from suppliers station to our processing facility. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Pick up raw materials as needed; weigh in raw material when returning to plant. Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition. Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules. Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee. Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc). Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily. Maintain DOT log on onboard computer. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with clean MVR
- Current Class A CDL holder, with tanker endorsement
Nice To Haves
- Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred
- Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance
- Works well with others in a team environment
- Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
- Good math and communication skills
