About The Position

The Local Retail Merchandiser position at SASR Workforce Solutions involves working part-time on a temporary basis to assist with merchandising tasks in retail environments. The role requires individuals to be reliable and collaborative, representing the company professionally while completing projects efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to stand 8+ hours on concrete floors and position self to move according to directions.
  • Frequently lift merchandise, fixtures, etc. up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to withstand cold and wet environmental conditions and weather.
  • Ability to understand directions given verbally and adapt to changing environments.
  • Retail merchandising/setting/stocking experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and set planograms.
  • Basic hand tools like drill, rubber mallet, screwdrivers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Move merchandise gondolas, T-Systems, and counters.
  • Remove and store counter movers.
  • Deconstruct and rebuild salesfloor steel uprights (7ft or shorter).
  • Assemble new merchandise gondolas and T-Systems, and tear down existing ones.
  • Install basic fixtures, manufacturing racks, and vendor-supplied items with no special tooling required.
  • Install complex fixtures, cases, and service areas using basic hand tools and/or cordless drills.
  • Install basic electronic equipment (no programming or set-up involved).
  • Load and unload fixtures efficiently.
  • Remove and install cash wraps and counters when directed by store team.
  • Accurately complete basic planogram and counter detailing.
  • Install and profile shelves, peg hooks, manufacturing, and vendor specialty racks according to guidelines.
  • Set labeling for merchandise as specified by guidelines.
  • Set merchandise on shelves and displays in line with guidelines.
  • Install Top Stock shelves/signage and manage excess merchandise following store team guidance.
  • Install and category displays effectively.
  • Fill end cap features according to guidelines.
  • Keep existing fixtures clean and presentable.
  • Occasionally ascend and descend ladders for stocking, fixtures, etc.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment.
