About The Position

The position requires the operation of all types of equipment to perform safety functions, including operating manual transmission and chaining tires. The driver must be skilled and qualified to drive in various terrains and environmental conditions. Responsibilities include safely operating a tractor/trailer for freight transportation in compliance with Company, Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as FMCSA regulations. The driver must maintain records for compliance, ensure the security of equipment and cargo, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and report maintenance issues. The role may involve using in-cab technology and working different schedules based on business needs. Customer service is also a key aspect of the job, along with assisting with dock work as required. Regular attendance is mandatory, and the job description may not encompass all duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Reside within 75 miles of the domiciled terminal.
  • HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements required.
  • Minimum 1 year driving experience.
  • Stable employment history preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb. vehicle).
  • Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
  • Physical activities include standing, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder.
  • Must be capable of dropping/hooking and coupling trailers.
  • Must provide an acceptable MVR.
  • Familiarity with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA regulations.
  • Pass a FMCSA required medical exam and road test.
  • Ability to read and speak English as per FMCSA requirements.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to drive in all types of terrain and environmental conditions.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
  • Assist with loading/unloading freight as needed.
  • Attend regularly and perform all assigned duties.
