About The Position

The Local Hire (HM Grants Specialist) position at FEMA is a temporary role focused on assisting with disaster response and recovery efforts in Tallahassee, FL. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Selective service registration is required for males born after 12/31/59.
  • High school graduate or possess a GED is required.
  • Minimum age of eighteen years is required.
  • Experience in writing, reviewing, or providing guidance related to federal grants.
  • Experience in creating presentation materials.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting, coordinating, and performing due diligence for hazard mitigation grant applications from project development to closeout.
  • Providing guidance and assisting in developing complete and eligible grant applications that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Gathering application data required for expedited processing by various FEMA teams.
  • Conducting project Scope, Budget, and Period of Performance reviews and generating requests for information.
