Requirements

• Experience providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders concerning emergency planning and preparedness initiatives.
• Experience developing messaging to communicate agency goals/programs to external audiences.
• Experience assessing organizational functions and processes to develop organizational improvement strategies.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a local planning process and program for a community, including timelines, budgets, staffing plans, and methods.
• Provide expertise in technical planning, such as zoning, land use, transportation, data analysis, and comprehensive planning.
• Manage and coordinate the work of a planning support team.
• Assist in disaster survivor assistance and conduct damage assessments.
• Provide administrative, financial, and logistical support for emergency management functions.
