About The Position

Baker Metal Works and Supply is dedicated to manufacturing a variety of high-quality metal roofing systems and stock trim items to meet customer needs. Our product range includes 5-panel profiles in 20 colors made from 29 or 26-gauge metal. Trim pieces are available in 26-gauge metal in all 20 colors and 10' lengths. We also provide custom pieces tailored to each project’s requirements. Job Summary: Class A CDL Driver needed for local deliveries of metal roofing panels and components to job sites operating flatbed trucks with piggybacks.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screen.
Ability to physically manage the unloading of metal products.

Nice To Haves

Computer proficiency with familiarity or ability to quickly learn GeoTab or other software.
Understanding of roofing products and or construction materials/ language.

Responsibilities

Safe Transportation: Safely operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer, primarily using flatbeds to transport metal roofing, panels, and trim.
Loading/Unloading: Secure loads and assist with unloading materials at job sites, which may involve heavy lifting.
Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, interacting professionally with customers, contractors, and job site personnel.
Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any safety concerns or maintenance needs.
Documentation: Complete logs, invoices, and delivery paperwork, including using phone systems to take photos of deliveries.
