As a Local Driver, you will ensure safety by operating safely and complying with all established HSSE policies and procedures. You will conduct pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip inspections, reporting any defects. It is essential to drive responsibly, adhering to speed limits and all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. You will maintain accurate driver e-logs and e-maintenance logs, providing outstanding customer service during pick-ups and deliveries. Additionally, you will secure cargo for transport, verify proper placarding for HAZMAT, and prepare bills of lading. Keeping a clean and organized work environment, including the truck cab, trailer, windows, and mirrors, is also part of your responsibilities. Effective communication with dispatch is crucial to receive accurate instructions and report any safety hazards or incidents. You will conduct basic vehicle maintenance and complete emergency roadside repairs if needed. Assisting in loading and unloading freight, spotting and parking trucks, and assisting at the warehouse are also part of your duties. Bulk Local Drivers will handle bulkers, tankers, and ISO containers, as well as specialty hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
