About The Position
As the "face of Airgas," the Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Local Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers. This role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the timely delivery of products. In this position, you will be part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering our employees a work/life balance. Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet, with most vehicles being under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, the latest camera technology, and GPS navigation. You will drive a truck over established routes to deliver and sell products, performing various duties including writing customer orders, recording sales or delivery information, and resolving service complaints. Safety is a top priority at Airgas, and as a Local Delivery Driver, you will perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all safety items are in good working order. You will also assist inside the retail branch, servicing customers at the dock, front counter, and over the phone. This position requires a commitment to safety and compliance with all company policies and DOT requirements, as well as participation in scheduled safety meetings.
