About The Position

This position involves driving a delivery vehicle and delivering products to various customers, including Foodservice. The role requires ongoing rotation and stocking of products on store shelves, displays, in coolers, and vending equipment. Responsibilities also include building small displays, setting up promotional materials like pricing signs and banners, generating invoices, and daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management and receiving personnel is required for load acceptance. The position demands physical activity such as lifting and loading cases (20-45 pounds repeatedly), pushing/pulling (40-150 pounds occasionally), reaching, squatting, and bending. Products are unloaded from the delivery vehicle using an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck and placed in designated backroom areas. As a Lead, the role also includes coaching, leading, and developing other drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity through regular route rides and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 21 years or older
  • Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
  • Valid U.S. CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Nice To Haves

  • Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (for example, performing basic functions like driving forwards, driving backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
  • Adhering to all DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
  • Merchandising products (for example, filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products)
  • Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (for example, operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
  • Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
  • Documenting DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product and execute all promotions
  • Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
  • Merchandise all accounts to local standards
  • Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account
  • Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily
  • Coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity via gate-to-gate route rides twice a week, minimum
  • Maintain process improvement to further enhance productivity of deliveries
  • Possess very strong organizational and prioritizing skills
