Local Delivery Driver - CDL
About The Position
Abatix is looking for a service-minded Local Delivery Driver to join our team at our brand-new branch in Round Rock, TX! The ideal candidate brings a professional, positive attitude and holds at least a Class B CDL license. As an Abatix Delivery Driver, you’ll be the face of our company on the road, making local deliveries to customers across Austin and the surrounding areas. When not out on deliveries, you’ll support daily warehouse operations - including shipping, receiving, loading, and general upkeep to help ensure our new branch runs smoothly from day one. We’re seeking someone who thrives on being active, enjoys meeting customers, and takes pride in teamwork and reliability. Requirements
- A customer service mindset! You must be willing to work with customers and go above and beyond to meet their needs
- A valid CDL class B license or higher
- 2 years of driving experience
- Ability to use FedEx and UPS online systems
- A strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Willingness to be a team player and take on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Dependability, motivation, punctuality and organizational skills
- Ability to complete certifications for forklifts
- Ability to lift 60 lbs and kneel, bend and twist as the warehouse may require
Nice To Haves
- Experience driving to jobsites preferred
- Experience with a stand-up forklift is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Make deliveries throughout the Austin area
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
- Inspect and maintain vehicle equipment and supplies, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
- Report any mechanical problem encountered with a vehicle
- Load and unload vehicle
- Verify the contents of orders against shipping papers
- Assist in warehouse facilities
- Count stock items and record data into computer system
- Assist customers with loading merchandise
