About you and this role - What you will do in this role You will join the Product Safety Research Laboratory Operations Team, supporting the day‑to-day activities of a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the operations leader, archivists, document management technicians, Quality Assurance, IT, laboratory staff, and other support teams. Your responsibilities will include supporting document archiving activities, coordinating IT logistics, completing general office and administrative tasks, supporting data handling activities, and assisting with documentation and procedural compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands‑on experience in laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, and cross‑functional teamwork

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma/GED and already enrolled at an accredited college or university located close to the Midland Dow site, pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 6 credit hours per term during both the Fall and Winter terms (~Sept-Apr).
  • Able to begin work very soon, usually within 4-6 weeks of the job offer, and work year-round at least 16 hours each week ONLY during our regular business hours (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri…max 8 hours/day and 30/week during school).
  • Commit to the role for at least 1 full calendar year (BEFORE completing classes for your stated undergraduate degree or BEFORE transferring out of the area). Students who are available longer than one year before completing their degree program are preferred and advantaged.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality in commuting to work daily or at least 2 days a week; therefore, dependable transportation, dedication and time management skills are absolutely required.
  • Students pursuing a degree in business, operations, IT or a science related field may be the best fit for this position.
  • Student must be able to deliver a quality work product, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and follow through on details to completion.
  • Student must be efficient and productive and be able to keep up with deadlines committed to.
  • Student should be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done, ask for clarity or additional instruction when needed, and be able to work independently as well as cooperatively with the team.
  • Student should be flexible, cooperative and have a positive attitude.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with facility and site EH&S policies.
  • Assist with preparation, review, organization, archiving, and maintenance of laboratory documentation, records, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate IT‑related logistics for lab PCs, including, equipment requests and system retirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, documentation quality, and workflow effectiveness.
  • Assist with general office and administrative tasks such as filing, organizing, and supply tracking.
