About The Position

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Local CDL Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in Nashville, Tennessee, and surrounding areas. This role involves a variety of highway maintenance tasks while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. The position requires flexibility for on-call work, including nights and weekends, and emphasizes teamwork and safety in all operations.

Requirements

• CDL A or B License required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Clean driving record is essential.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions.
• Knowledge of safety equipment required for each job.
• Ability to adapt to the latest technology and use smartphone applications.
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedules.
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing manual labor.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.

Nice To Haves

• Roadway maintenance or construction experience.
• MOT Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of potholes, fences, seed/sod, herbicide, etc.
• Conduct road patrol and debris removal.
• Respond to incidents as needed.
• Operate heavy equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Repair signs and perform bridge work.
• Repair and install Longitudinal Cable Barriers (LCB).
• Repair and install guardrails.
