About The Position

CASES is currently seeking a Lobby Attendant to join our Facilities Department. The Lobby Attendant will be the first point of contact for all individuals entering our Harlem Community Office located at 4 West 125th Street, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and professional environment. This role is ideal for someone who is presentable, punctual, reliable, and capable of de-escalating situations in accordance with safety protocols. CASES is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation, and create opportunities for success in the community. We are committed to helping people—regardless of their past choices, present struggles, or future obstacles—to build the capacity and courage to change their lives. We believe that in-person operations are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This job requires work in our offices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and/or two (2) years of related experience
  • Previous experience in customer service or security
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask while still exhibiting good judgement and poise in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Willingness to participate in de-escalation trainings as well as other trainings to support a safe environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous safety/de-escalation training
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome program participants, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Practice safety check-in protocols, including reviewing identification before granting elevator access
  • Direct individuals to appropriate floors or program areas as needed
  • Respond to inquiries from guests and provide accurate information or assistance
  • Monitor the lobby and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • De-escalate situations calmly and effectively, following established safety protocols
  • Promptly report any suspicious activities, incidents, or safety concerns to management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable lobby space at all times
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions (e.g., spills, obstructions) to facilities staff or supervisors to ensure a safe working environment
  • Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor
