About The Position

This position provides the opportunity to enter at a junior level and to learn real estate and finance, with an emphasis on residential construction. Key job responsibilities include: underwriting real estate; underwriting borrowers; and helping to process, fulfill, and service loans. The work environment is supportive and friendly but demanding. It enables those with initiative and talent to stand out. A successful Loan Underwriter may quickly grow responsibility and compensation. One potential path of progression is to a sales/originations role, working with existing and potential clients to originate loans.

Requirements

Attention to detail is critical.
This position will require moderate Excel, Word, and Outlook skills which can be learned on the job.
strong interpersonal skills and comfort on the phone will become necessary.
The Loan Underwriter should expect to work 45 hours in a typical week, or roughly 8:15-5:45 with half an hour off for lunch.
A bachelor’s degree.
