About The Position

The Loan Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the lending department by performing various tasks related to loan servicing. This position acts as a backup to the Loan Support Supervisor and involves interaction with relationship managers, lenders, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of loan-related tasks. The specialist is responsible for maintaining loan files, assisting with collateral administration, and providing administrative support to loan officers, all while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous lending and/or financial experience
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Personal computer skills and familiarity with company computer applications
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the banking industry, particularly in the lending area
  • Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and other regulatory, security, and bank policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Flood Disaster Protection Act regulations and other regulatory, security, and bank policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act regulations and other regulatory, security, and bank policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide requested items and work with auditors on audits and findings.
  • Maintain new and paid customer loan files.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
  • Use office computers for data input and other activities.
  • Ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
  • Check documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures.
  • Provide administrative assistance to loan officers and staff, including updating loan data into the financial institution's computers.
  • Assist with collateral administration, ensuring collateral is sufficient and adequately insured.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and written inquiries concerning loan processing and information.
  • Correct any errors to payments and advances, both posted and non-posted, including analysis of error and correction procedure.
  • Monitor that flood insurance protection is adequate for properties housed as collateral in a special flood hazard area.
  • Verify coupon payment book orders and monthly printing fees.
  • Maintain and prepare consumer mortgage escrow payments.
  • Monitor and process Warehouse loan transactions.
  • Monitor and update High Priced Mortgage rate changes to the system.
  • Work with Issuetrak; picking up requests for information and problem resolution throughout the day.
  • Assist with Participation loan payment processing.
