About The Position

The Loan Servicing Specialist position is located in the Pre-Foreclosure & Acceleration Section of the Special Asset Management & Review Branch within the Rural Development's Servicing & Asset Management Office. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct pre-acceleration reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, facilitating the foreclosure process when necessary. This position involves analyzing delinquent accounts, coordinating loan servicing activities, and communicating with borrowers and third parties regarding foreclosure options.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or US National.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
• Specialized experience includes reviewing delinquent borrower hardship situations, applying state-specific laws to pre-acceleration processes, and preparing communications to protect government interests.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in financial analysis or loan servicing.
• Knowledge of foreclosure processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-acceleration reviews to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Perform day-to-day analysis and actions required for delinquent accounts.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate loan servicing activities for seriously delinquent customers.
• Complete transactions and reviews related to delinquent accounts.
• Respond to inquiries from borrowers and third parties regarding loan servicing options.
