About The Position
The Loan Servicing Department at WaFd Bank is seeking a dedicated Loan Servicing Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is pivotal in supporting various loan servicing functions while ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. The Loan Servicing Specialist will be responsible for a range of tasks that require attention to detail, adherence to federal regulations, and a commitment to quality control in all aspects of loan servicing. In this role, the Loan Servicing Specialist will be tasked with preparing payoff quotes upon receiving written requests from escrow companies, branches, and clients. This includes receiving and posting incoming payoff checks, ensuring that any overages are returned to clients promptly. The specialist will also prepare lien releases for real estate secured loans and perform daily insurance functions with accuracy and consistency. Additionally, the role involves conducting post-closing quality control on modified and newly funded loans, assisting the department with other daily functions, and adhering to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations. The Loan Servicing Specialist will need to maintain regular and consistent attendance, function well under deadlines, and effectively communicate the status of work assignments. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and while experience in real estate lending processing and documentation is beneficial, the ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to departmental needs is essential for success in this role.
