About The Position

The Loan Services Specialist performs advanced loan functions and is responsible for secondary market reporting and adhering to investor requirements and reconciling the Bank's core system to service providers. The incumbent will handle more complex and difficult customer problems and provide guidance and training to less-experienced loan processing personnel as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in Loan Services.
• Successful completion of Accounting I or equivalent experience.
• Math skills.
• Keyboarding skills.
• Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive way when dealing with both internal and external customers.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel).
• Experience with Jack Henry loan applications.
• Secondary market mortgage loan experience.

Responsibilities

• Input of new consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans to the mainframe.
• Processing of participation and syndication loan payments to participants.
• Review system generated reports, on a daily basis, to resolve any issues that arise during nightly processing.
• Reconcile Loan Settlement and Loan Unposted general ledger accounts and resolve all transactions that were unable to process and/or that caused settlement issues during nightly processing.
• Performs advanced maintenance functions and transactions on the core system for all types of loan accounts.
• Serve audit function by verifying the accuracy of new loan data input by others to the core system for commercial, consumer and mortgage loans.
• Fulfill contracts for the sale of investor loans.
• Prepare and submit the necessary reports to secondary market investors and SBA. Remit the appropriate amounts due to investors within the specified timeline.
• Perform general ledger reconcilements.
• Handle customer service inquiries, issues and concerns internally as well as from the general public.
• Create and generate queries on the loan portfolio as requested.
• Assist in verification of system records upon each enhancement.
• Generate and review monthly escrow analysis statements.
• Crosstrain on various Loan Servicing functions, performing such duties during absences or as volume requires.
• Completes assigned compliance training in a timely manner and demonstrates ability to apply training to their duties and responsibilities.
• Assuming other job-related duties as requested.
