About The Position

The Loan Review Analyst plays a critical role in managing credit risk within financial institutions. This position is responsible for providing independent validation of credit risk levels, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and reporting findings to senior management and the Board of Directors. The analyst conducts thorough reviews of loans, assesses risk, and identifies weaknesses in credit relationships, all while maintaining independence from loan origination processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of banking experience required.
• 1+ years of direct credit or loan review experience preferred.
• Ability to perform duties independently without influence from lending personnel.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with acute attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews mid-size to large loans of moderate to high complexity, ensuring the accuracy of risk grades assigned by lenders.
• Completes review audits on various areas of lending, including specific loan types and special assets.
• Reports quarterly to senior management on grade changes, underwriting trends, and credit risk trends.
• Develops and maintains information on the financial industry, economy, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
• Assists other individuals in the loan review department with processes and projects.
• Helps the Loan Review Manager in writing quarterly Loan Review reports to the Audit Committee.
• Provides loan account ratings for loan officers and assists in projects as assigned.
• Provides leadership in the absence of the Loan Review Manager.
