About The Position

The position is responsible for establishing advanced quality controls and implementing continuous improvement standards and procedures for State Bank. The role involves collaboration with the Risk Management Group to understand changes in regulatory requirements across Mortgage, Consumer, and Commercial Business Lines, coordinating implementation with Operations Leaders, and establishing operational metrics to proactively identify defects in production. The individual will work closely with the CTIO, QC Manager, and other Directors in Operations to execute specific departmental goals, determine work procedures, and drive required quality standards. Compliance with all operating policies and procedures is essential, along with effective communication and periodic reporting.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. or equivalent is normally required.
  • Training or practical experience in Mortgage Lending, HMDA, and Quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data integrity reviews of loan data in the Loan Application Register (LAR) to ensure accuracy.
  • Validate HMDA data against source documents to confirm consistency and correctness.
  • Execute testing procedures on HMDA data fields to check for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in data anomalies and work with departments to correct issues.
  • Conduct Mortgage Pre and Post Closing reviews.
  • Oversee HMDA implementation, review, and transition to Risk Management for submission.
  • Ensure departmental activities comply with established bank lending policies, procedures, quality, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Communicate with the Quality Control Manager and other staff to enhance internal operations.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Provide timely reporting to the Quality Control Manager and other relevant groups.
  • Support adherence to internal policies and procedures promoting a harassment-free workplace.
  • Participate in risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
