About The Position

This position reports to The Loan Center Manager and Assistant Loan Center Manager. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about educating and assisting our members with our services. The Loan Processor is primarily responsible for funding and servicing loans to the member’s complete satisfaction. Responsible for conducting quality control, ensuring that supporting loan documentation and records are accurately prepared according to Raiz policies and procedures. Commands a thorough knowledge of the lending process to ensure maximum funding of loans. Fully knowledgeable of all credit union products and services. Meets or exceeds all funding goals with minimum errors and processes pending loans in a timely, consistent manner. Requirements

  • Education-High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of operations experience, preferably in the financial industry. Consumer lending experience is preferred
  • General understanding of basic financial terminology and proficiency in financial calculations.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a heavy workload while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication skills, with professional phone etiquette and a customer-centric attitude.
  • Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
  • Must be able to work independently and make sound and accurate decisions.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized, attention to detail, time management skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, teamwork, focus and sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications

Responsibilities

  • Actively process and fund consumer loan and credit card applications and all loan related transactions on Loan Origination System and related software systems.
  • Open accounts for potential members and set up ACH and automatic loan payments.
  • Disclose loan terms to ensure members agree on terms and conditions before signing.
  • Conducts quality control prior to disbursement of loan proceeds and after on random set of loans.
  • Understands the principals of underwriting to ensure loans are within Credit Union’s guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Verifies all documents to ensure loan packet is complete, to include verification of income, values of collateral, title documents, etc.
  • Conducts quality control on title packets.
  • Provides an excellent member experience by relating well to the member, proactively cross-selling products and services previously sold by the Loan Officer.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending products, services, and processes.
  • Maintains a 5% maximum error rating on total loans funded each month while consistently meeting deadlines, funding goals, and efficiency requirements.
  • Communicates with members and any external entities to gather the items necessary to process and fund the loan.
  • Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain confidentiality of credit union and member information.
  • Keep the manager and assistant manager informed of area activities and any significant problems.
  • Stays up to date on all current, applicable industry standards, and federal regulations.
  • Attends required training and meetings and demonstrates a willingness to keep learning.
  • Maintenance loan accounts to add ancillary products
  • Conducts quality control on ancillary products and services for monthly reports
  • Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
