About The Position

One Real Mortgage is seeking a dedicated and passionate Loan Originator Assistant to join our team. The Loan Originator Assistant assists loan originators and applicants in applying for and obtaining mortgage credit. This includes assisting or performing activities like determining the proper loan program, completing the loan application, gathering the necessary paperwork to begin the loan process, and preparing the loan file for submission. The Licensed Loan Originator Assistant communicates with the Loan Originator, applicant, appraiser, title officer, escrow officer, loan processor and underwriter.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.
  • Interview or assist a Mortgage Loan Originator in interviewing applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process of obtaining a home loan.
  • Analyze or assist a Mortgage Loan Originator in analyzing applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
  • Explain or assist a Mortgage Loan Originator in explaining to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.
  • Obtain and compile or assist a Mortgage Loan Originator in obtaining and compiling copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
  • Work with applicants or assist a Mortgage Loan Originator in working with applicants to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.
  • LOS training, Microsoft products, Paperless, and general website training.
  • Knowledge of Conventional, FHA and VA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Takes applications for mortgage credit, including prequalifying mortgage loans by examining supporting documentation; estimating credit-worthiness; calculating repayment risk.
  • Offers and negotiates rates and terms of mortgage loans, including presenting loan offers to consumers, either verbally or in writing, including providing disclosures.
  • Protects the Company’s image by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in pre-licensing, annual continuing, and company specific education and training, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through use of effective listening and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of State/Federal regulations to maintain loan file compliance.
  • Responsible for prompt, courteous internal and external customer service in a professional manner.
  • Participates and contributes to a positive work environment which encourages team commitment to corporate and department goals.
