Washington Trust has an exciting opportunity for a bilingual Loan Origination Specialist to join the Retail Mortgage Lending division. The bilingual Loan Origination Specialist provides support to one or more Mortgage Originators in servicing their Spanish speaking customers – primarily for community lending products, as well as others. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Disclose and monitor loans to be sure all loans stay in compliance. Assist with translation of documents and requirements. Set up mortgage loan files in origination system (Encompass). Work proactively with loan officer by reaching out to customers to obtain quick turnaround time on receiving signed disclosures back from borrowers/customers. Guide the customer through the application process. Request specific documentation for review and reach out to borrower to obtain these documents. Review all documents received to be sure package is complete and address any missing documentation with loan officer and borrower. Update/upload all pertinent documentation to Loan Origination system and keep all information in system up-to-date. Submit loans to processor notating what is missing and what has been requested. Follow loan to ensure timely closing. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with presentations and other marketing support for Community Lending Loan Officer. Will perform any task requested by a supervisor, as it relates to the Bank or its function. This position requires fluency in Spanish and English languages, high school diploma or GED, and two years of relevant administrative support experience in a mortgage lending environment. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the guidelines for all types of mortgage loans including: Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, and RIHMFC. This position requires high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, working independently with a sense of urgency, and the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite and CRM. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required. This position will be hybrid and requires NMLS registration. Compensation: A good‑faith, reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $53,000 to $65,000, and the actual offer will depend on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. This base salary reflects one component of our competitive compensation package. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
