About The Position

The Loan Operations Officer is responsible for preparing consumer and commercial loan documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations and the Bank's internal loan policy. This role involves close collaboration with retail and commercial Lenders and other Loan Operations team members to gather all necessary information for loan documentation. Key tasks include preparing loan documents using LaserPro, completing and updating compliance checklists, reviewing attorney-prepared documents both pre- and post-closing, and coordinating loan closings with title companies. The officer will also identify and review HMDA reportable loans, manage LaserPro updates, and perform various additional operational duties. These duties encompass preparing reports for the Directors Loan Committee, Board, and Senior Management, as well as handling quarterly and annual CRA and HMDA submissions to the FFIEC program. The position also requires assisting with internal and external audits, researching credit report disputes, and contributing to the development or updating of operational procedures. Regular attendance at departmental and officer meetings is also an essential part of the role.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accepted business accounting principles
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 7 - 10 years’ banking experience
  • 5 - 7 years loan operations experience
  • LaserPro proficiency required
  • Knowledge in all lending regulations
  • Continued training in loan documentation
  • Maintain focus for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Prepare consumer and commercial loan documentation in compliance with both federal and state regulations and the Bank's internal loan policy
  • Work with retail and/or commercial Lenders as well as the Loan Operations team members to ensure all necessary information has been obtained to document both consumer and commercial loans
  • Prepare commercial & consumer loan documents on LaserPro
  • Complete compliance checklists relating to said documents
  • Update Pre and Post closing checklists
  • Review attorney prepared documents pre- and post-closing
  • Coordinate loan closing with title companies
  • Review for all HMDA reportable loans and applications
  • Review and maintain LaserPro updates
  • Prepare and/or review Directors Loan Committee & Board reports
  • Prepare reports for Senior Management
  • Quarterly update & annual submission of CRA information on FFIEC program
  • Annual submission of HMDA information on FFIEC program
  • Assist in obtaining information for internal & external audits
  • Research & follow departmental procedures in connection with credit report disputes
  • Assist in developing or updating existing operational procedures
  • Attend Departmental meetings relating to loan operations, commercial & retail lending
  • Attend Officer meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
