About The Position

We are seeking candidates to fill a Loan Officer III position based in Verona, VA. From day one, you’ll become part of a dynamic, collaborative, and customer focused team committed to supporting agriculture and rural communities. In this role, you’ll leverage advanced lending expertise, strong credit judgment, and deep community involvement to deliver tailored financial solutions to our customer owners. You’ll independently grow and manage a complex lending portfolio, serve as a trusted advisor to borrowers, and contribute to Farm Credit of the Virginias’ ongoing success as a cooperative partner to rural America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of lending or related financial services experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex lending relationships and portfolios independently.
  • Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to active involvement in the local community and agricultural industry.
  • Knowledge of the region’s economic and agricultural environment.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions that benefit both customers and the Association.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a mobile and/or virtual work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan based on territory dynamics and market opportunities.
  • Grow and manage a large, complex lending portfolio through new business development and strong customer relationships.
  • Structure and recommend lending solutions using sound credit judgment and adherence to lending policies.
  • Coordinate loan originations and servicing activities independently, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Actively engage in community and industry involvement to identify opportunities and referral partnerships.
  • Remain knowledgeable of agricultural, economic, and market conditions impacting the territory.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for borrowers and teammates, handling complex communication professionally throughout the loan process.
  • Prepare loan packages accurately and in accordance with guidelines and compliance expectations.
  • Represent Farm Credit of the Virginias at community events and industry functions.
