The Loan Officer position at American Airlines Credit Union involves building long-term relationships with members by matching their needs with appropriate financial products and services.   • Process new loan applications by interviewing members and analyzing credit reports.
  • Exercise lending authority to handle all loan requests, including consumer loans.
  • Create and promote positive name recognition for the Credit Union.
  • Support or speak publicly at special Credit Union events.
  • Work with branch/department managers to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Research member inquiries and provide timely solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of all branch functions to ensure proper support.
  • Implement and enforce internal control and security measures according to policies and regulations.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and service excellence.
  • Handle responsibilities of a Member Services Representative as needed.
  • Perform Notary Services as required.
  • Provide coverage for management vacations.
  • May work a rotating Saturday schedule depending on job location.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong working background in a financial institution with relevant consumer loan processing or underwriting experience within the last twelve months.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to exercise excellent member service skills.
  • Ability to perform in a sales-culture environment with a desire to cross-sell products and services.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and analyze data.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related area.
  • Experience in a lending and sales-culture environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
