Position Overview The Loan Documentation Team Leader is responsible for performing various duties, including oversight of the preparation of Consumer & Commercial loan documentation related to loan settlements in accordance with all current government regulations and company policies and procedures. This individual is responsible for providing guidance and on-the-job training to new and/or less experienced members of the loan documentation team. The Loan Documentation Team Leader will also assist department management with task and duties to support department operations. As an integral member of the Lending team, the Loan Documentation Supervisor will coordinate work within the department, as well as with other departments while fully delivering on the organization’s Unwavering Service Standards.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in business curriculum.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience and a general understanding of commercial loan products and collateral are normally required.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; strong understanding of commercial loan structures, collateral, and regulatory compliance requirements; above average knowledge of loan documentation, banking operations, and loan servicing; familiarity with loan documentation software, loan origination systems, and banking regulations; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; proficient supervisory and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certification, or similar training, is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting attorney-prepared legal documents strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various duties related to the pre-closing loan process as follows: a. Ensures that all required documentation is included as identified on the checklists as a part of the post-closing review. b. Utilizes a sample verification process used for certain items requested on the pre-closing checklist; independently verifies items when the authenticity is questioned.
  • Performs various duties related to the post-closing loan process as follows: a. Reviews and clears exceptions and deficiencies. b. Supports quality control and post-closing process as needed. c. Maintains closed loan list to show on time booking to Senior Management.
  • Assists with participation loans as needed.
  • Performs duties of the Loan Documentation Specialist and/or Senior Loan Documentation Specialist as needed.
  • Manages multiple loan files simultaneously, ensuring all conditions and required documents are obtained proactively.
  • Monitors documentation pipelines and prioritizes as needed.
  • Maintains an acceptable error rate in loan file reviews while managing a high-volume pipeline
  • Reviews commercial loan files; checks files for accuracy; reviews checklist for all documents needed; documents exceptions when needed; clears exceptions upon receipt and verification of requested documentation.
  • Prepares loan documentation related to loan settlements in accordance with all current government regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs second checks of loan documentation packages, as needed.
  • Distributes various reports which may include any of the following: a. Monthly Guidance Line of Credit outstanding report. b. Monthly interim On-Time Booking report. c. Quarterly totals On-Time Booking report.
