About The Position

The Loan Documentation and Funding Specialist is responsible for the timely preparation of quality documentation as well as the centralized funding and quality control/audit functions for consumer, small business, and commercial loans once the executed documents have been imaged. This role ensures that the bank adheres to loan policies and guidelines while meeting all legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements. The specialist will cross-train, assist, and support other job functions to foster a strong team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant banking experience.
  • Practical experience in loan documentation, loan compliance, lending, or a closely related field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use new software and programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, validates, and completes complex loan documentation, funding, and quality control research requests.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the bank's underwriting and documentation platforms.
  • Prepares timely, accurate consumer/commercial loan documents that meet the requirements outlined in the credit approval, the bank's loan policy, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs checks of loan documents created by other Loan Documentation Specialists before release.
  • Escalates questionable transactions and recurring issues to management.
  • Verifies data on the bank's core application and auxiliary systems to ensure coding agrees with credit approval and supporting documentation.
  • Performs tasks related to the controlled distribution of loan funds and collateral perfection.
  • Observes all security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Meets SLA timeframes consistently.
  • Identifies and electronically pulls documents from the bank's underwriting platforms into the archive system.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to customers and business partners.
  • Trains others in Loan Documentation and Funding and acts as a mentor to new team members.
  • Assists with the development and execution of onboarding and cross-training plans.
  • Displays exceptional teamwork and contributes to a positive culture.
  • Travels occasionally for training and team meetings as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
