About The Position

American Bank & Trust Company is looking for an experienced Loan Clerk for the Opelousas location. The position provides administrative assistance to loan officers, including updating loan data into the financial institution’s computer systems to include Horizon XE, Compliance One, Client Link, TEJ, etc., and assembling documentation for loans . Ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signature, dates, and other relevant data, and verifies accuracy of loan documentation . Checks documents for proper legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures. Maintains new and paid loan files daily . Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures and loan policies. Answer all credit inquiries for loans, credit cards and/or deposit accounts. Balance general ledger accounts, loans, and credit cards daily, check the accuracy of the information, and wait on customers in person and on the phone. The position requires a High School Diploma or better; experience in an office or business setting; proficient typing skills; Word, Excel, and basic computer knowledge with the ability to adapt to new computer programs ; good communication skills, multitasking and attention to details; have some knowledge of banking laws and regulations. Requirements
