First Bank of Montana is hiring a Loan Assistant to be an integral part of the team in our Plentywood, Montana location! Are you interested in learning and growing within the banking field? This is the opportunity for you! This position involves providing loan support for loan officers in the branch and requires a positive attitude and great customer service skills. The ability to work in a team atmosphere and promote the bank's products and services is required. Professionalism, confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability are a must!

  • Assist loan officers by pulling credit reports, UCC lien search, Vehicle Lien Search & floods
  • Perfect loan collateral by filing UCC and CFS documents
  • Follow up on vehicle titles
  • Insurance monitoring and AM Best Ratings
  • Follow up on deeds of trusts and title policies
  • Organize loan files to ensure all required documents are in order and complete
  • Prepare reconveyances
  • Prepare correspondence to loan customers requesting financial information, credit authorizations, inspections, floor plans as directed by loan officers
  • Credit and file documents and reviews
  • Prepare reports as requested
  • Prepare loan documents and set up files accurately and within established timelines
  • Pull paid notes and loan documents and release liens
  • Perform job functions in compliance with all company policies and procedures, federal and state rules and regulations as applicable to the position
  • Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems
  • Participate in community service and bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of First Bank of Montana
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service
  • Represent First Bank of Montana in a professional manner
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Banking Experience Preferred
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to have a broad knowledge of banking regulations
