About The Position

The Loan Assistant at FCB Banks plays a crucial role in supporting Loan Officers by handling various administrative tasks related to the origination and servicing of lending products. This position involves direct interaction with customers, providing them with information about loan options, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The Loan Assistant is essential in maintaining the loan portfolio and delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of financial services industry experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of lending or loan assistant experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, listening, and presentation.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and traditional office products.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems timely.
  • Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Detail-oriented with effective task management and prioritization skills.
  • Working knowledge of bank operations, policies, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in real estate lending functions.
  • Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Explains loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements to customers.
  • Orders credit reports, prepares loan documents, and analyzes debt-to-income ratios.
  • Coordinates and conducts loan closings.
  • Reviews loan documents with customers and obtains their signatures.
  • Initiates disbursement of loan proceeds and services loans in the portfolio.
  • Monitors and follows up on loan maturities and renewals.
  • Works with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Keeps informed of changing rules and regulations pertaining to mortgages.
  • Closes consumer loans and completes loan maintenance.
  • Handles loan customer service for all locations and assists all loan officers as needed.
  • Prepares certain Board reports and pulls past-due reports for loan officers.
  • Applies NSF charges for auto direct loan payments and performs other duties as assigned by management.
