About The Position

The Loan Analyst position at the Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency involves providing support and assistance in various lending activities related to agricultural loans. Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or US National.
• Completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, or possess a bachelor's degree in any field of study; OR three years of general work experience with progressively responsible experience.
• For GS-7 level: Superior Academic Achievement or one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 level.
• For GS-9 level: Two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or one year of specialized work experience equivalent to GS-7 level.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methods of fact-finding, analysis, and problem-solving techniques as they apply to financial factors and credit risks.
• Experience in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of farm loan program operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Farm Loan Chief and Farm Loan Specialists in lending activities.
• Assist in closing, disbursement, monitoring, liquidating, and servicing of agricultural loans.
• Collaborate with Farm Loan Officers and loan staff under the direction of the District Director and Farm Loan Manager.
• Perform analysis, evaluation, and advisory assignments related to loan making and servicing activities.
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of farm loan programs, policies, and procedures.
