Small Business Lending LLC is looking to add a Loan Accounting Representative to its team. The Loan Accounting Representative is responsible for supporting the accounting and servicing functions of the loan portfolio by accurately processing loan transactions, maintaining reconciliations, and assisting with reporting and operational tasks. This role ensures timely processing of loan payments, investor remittances, and general ledger reconciliation while maintaining accurate loan records within the servicing system.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in loan servicing, banking operations, or accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial or loan servicing systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily deposits to multiple bank accounts.
  • Post daily cash receipts to the loan servicing system and reconcile transactions to the General Ledger.
  • Generate and submit NACHA ACH files for processing and perform associated reconciliations.
  • Post and remit loan payoff funds to investors as required.
  • Process weekly remittances to the SBA through Pay.gov as needed.
  • Post secondary market settlements within the loan servicing system.
  • Board new loans into the loan servicing system.
  • Process loan servicing transactions including deferments, note modifications, payoff quotes, and accrual status changes.
  • Prepare documentation required for guaranteed loan sales.
  • Reconcile loans and loan participations to ensure accurate accounting of serviced loans.
  • Maintain and reconcile Cash Balancing and Suspense worksheets to the General Ledger on a daily and monthly basis for various lending clients.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes for servicing clients.
  • Create and maintain management reports related to loan accounting and servicing activities.
  • Perform general office duties including mail sorting and forwarding, document filing, and maintaining organized records.
  • Provide operational support to ensure efficient loan accounting and servicing processes.
