About The Position

Responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day tasks of our loadout crews, as well as ensuring shipment targets of market hogs from our finisher farms to our processing plant are met. Ensure that all loadout crews operate in a safe, consistent, bio-secure manner. Routinely spend time in barns with crews loading animals to assess individual and crew performance and training needs and to verify that animals are loaded in accordance with Seaboard Foods animal handling SOPs. Verify that all crews and individuals are following biosecurity guidelines. Confirm that all daily and weekly shipment targets are met through the management of crews and staffing schedules. Complete daily /weekly departmental paperwork and supply orders. Consistently check vehicles, chutes and equipment for safe operation and proper cleanliness promoting biosecurity. Schedule timely maintenance of company vehicles, chutes, and body cams as necessary. Maintain all assigned tasks including but not limited to payroll, PTO scheduling and safety training for direct reports or contract crews as applicable. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements

  • One year of swine management experience.
  • Experience with biosecurity guidelines and animal handling.
  • Experience overseeing the loading process including setting up chute, staging pigs, and loading.
  • Must have experience ensuring PPE is used correctly.
  • Must have experience with proper boarding depending on outside temperature.
  • Must have experience completing bill of lading paperwork.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
