About The Position

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Loadmaster to support the Mission Aviation Services department in Greensboro, NC. The Loadmaster will manage all aspects of aircraft cargo load planning, loading, and unloading, ensuring safe mission deployment while advancing the Gospel. This role involves coordinating with various personnel to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, as well as training and supervising volunteers and staff involved in cargo operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a college or university.
  • Four or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience loading aircraft and operating warehouse and ground equipment.
  • Ability to think critically and make appropriate decisions.
  • Maintain professionalism and a friendly service demeanor.
  • Maintain a safety and service-oriented attitude and confidentiality regarding flight schedules.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mission aviation or humanitarian aid operations.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of aircraft cargo load planning, loading, and unloading.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for planning and coordination of aircraft cargo.
  • Ensure accuracy of aircraft load planning and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Validate flight load plans with the Pilot-in-Command prior to flight.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot regarding cargo placement and weight.
  • Supervise the safe loading of cargo onto the aircraft.
  • Manage loadmaster deployments and offloading at deployed locations.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, GOM, and safety/security requirements.
  • Train and manage all Samaritans Purse loadmasters and load builders.
  • Manage the hazardous materials program and train personnel on hazardous materials handling.
  • Oversee Special Cargo Load Analysis and ensure compliance with positioning/restraint requirements.
  • Manage loading equipment and conduct inspections.
  • Train and supervise volunteers loading cargo in the aircraft.
  • Train loadmasters on safe Ground Support Equipment operation.
