About The Position

The Loader Operator is responsible for inspecting equipment and machinery for safe operation and maintenance needs. This position requires operating various heavy equipment, including dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, tractors, front loaders, and back hoes, to excavate, move, and grade earth. The operator will interact with construction laborers and crew members to ensure alignment and movement of equipment to meet grade specifications for construction projects. Additionally, the operator will control air and water output of compressors and pumps and adjust machinery controls to drive and manage attachments.

Requirements

• Demonstrable previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of signals used to communicate with construction machinery operators.
• Three or more years of industry-related experience, particularly in roads, highways, and bridges.
• Experience running a 950 size loader or larger with shot rock material near steep slopes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with construction general laborers and crew members to facilitate equipment alignment and movement.
• Turn valves to control air and water output of compressors and pumps.
• Adjust control wheels, handles, and pedals to drive machinery and control attachments.
